European-Engineered mechanisms

The mechanism is the heart of every wall
bed and, together with the springs, it’s a
key component where quality really matters. Our quality mechanisms are engineered in Europe and go through rigorous testing before being included in our Murphy Wall-Bed kits.
Patented rotational leg system Icon

Patented rotational leg system

We weren’t happy with the legs found on most Murphy beds, so we made our own! The smooth action and sturdy design of our rotational leg system tucks the legs over the mattress when the bed’s not in use, while the long-lasting rubber feet protect your floor from damage.

The quality of our wall-beds is clear.
9 clear points of quality

01
Reinforced corner brackets
These brackets connect the mitered corners of the side, end and head rails for added durability.

02
Counter-balanced spring mechanism
This European-engineered mechanism holds up to 9 steel springs and allows for safe and effortless opening and closing of the bed. When balanced correctly, it can hold the bed panel unit at a 45 degree angle.

03
Supportive steel stiffeners
Lightweight steel stiffeners (two for Supreme Steel, three for Elite Aluminum) reinforce and support the bed panel. They're strong enough to help support up to 1700 lbs, but so thin, they won't be felt through the mattress.

04
Side rails
Two sleek side rails connect to the end and head rails to surround and support the bed panel.
Bed Frame Image
05
Leg stop
Installed into the bottom hole of the frame, the leg stop prevents the leg from fully rotating down.
Bed Frame Image
06
Protective rubber feet
These long-lasting rubber feet protect your floor from damage.
Bed Frame Image
07
Leg crossbar
Part of our patented rotational leg system, this square bar attaches to the two legs and rotates over the mattress when the bed is closed.
Bed Frame Image
08
End and head rails
Two shorter end/head rails connect to the side rails to surround and support the bed panel.
Bed Frame Image
09
Rotational leg system
Our own patented leg system allows the two legs, connected by the cross bar, to easily and conveniently rotate into the bed when closed. Available in two heights: Regular, which accommodates a mattress up to 10" thick, and Extended, which accommodates a mattress up to 12" thick (and also raises the height of the cabinet by 2 3/ 8").
