Shipping policy

Wall-Bed Hardware

All hardware orders (Wall-Bed Hardware) are shipped via UPS standard ground courier within one to two business days of the date of the order. Once shipped, it takes approximately five to eight business days for products to arrive. The Purchaser will be expected to accept delivery and, if needed, document any damage which may have occurred during the shipping process. When reporting damages to Murphy Wall-Beds Hardware Inc., colour photographs of the damage are required and need to be emailed to Murphy Wall-Beds Hardware Inc. (info@murphybeds.com) to finalize the claim.

If the courier is unable to complete the delivery of the shipment, a notice will be left stating that a delivery has been attempted. It will then be the Purchaser’s responsibility to arrange delivery at time convenient to the Purchaser.


Build-A-Bed Cabinetry Orders

All Build-A-Bed Cabinetry orders are shipped via a motor freight company, using curbside delivery service, meaning that shipments will be made by way of a pallet delivered by a semi-trailer truck or similar vehicle and offloaded by the Purchaser. All Build-a-Bed orders will be delivered on a weekday (Monday - Friday).

Curbside delivery service provides delivery of the item(s) to the curb, or as close to the Purchaser’s property line and/or driveway provided the location is deemed accessible by the delivering carrier. This service does not include set up or assembly of the item(s) or removal of the packaging material. It is the Purchaser’s responsibility to inform Murphy Wall-Beds Hardware Inc. at the time of purchase of any issues relating to delivery including the existence of a difficult or unusual location, so that necessary arrangements may be made with the delivery carrier where possible. Purchasers may incur additional shipping costs depending on the Purchaser’s specific situation. The delivering freight carrier is not obliged to assist the Purchaser with the unloading of the freight.

The shipment method/procedure must be confirmed by the Purchaser at the time of purchase. The Purchaser should be aware that all freight is prepaid and that no additional freight charges should be paid to the delivering carrier unless the Purchaser alters or changes any prior arrangements. Any deviations from the prearranged shipping methods may result in additional costs being billed to the Purchaser. In most cases, the delivering carrier will bill the Purchaser directly for any additional charges.

The Purchaser must inspect all freight prior to unloading and document any damage to the freight on the Bill of Lading or Delivery Slip provided by the delivery carrier. Failure to document any such damage may result in delays in resolving any possible freight damage claims and may result in the freight claim being denied by the freight carrier.

All Build-A-Bed orders will be packaged in a wooden crate. The wooden crate will be delivered on a pallet and will require a Phillips screwdriver to open. The individual components will range in weight from 2 to 45 kilograms (5 to 100 pounds). It is strongly recommended that the Purchaser have at least one assistant present to help offload the freight. It is the responsibility of the Purchaser to notify Murphy Wall-Beds Hardware Inc. prior to ordering if there are any concerns or issues that may arise at the time of delivery. The Purchaser will be given a reasonable time (20 to 30 minutes) to unload the freight from the delivery freight carrier.
